Genesis 24 shows God's providence at work even when His voice is not directly heard. As Abraham sends his faithful servant to find a wife for Isaac, God guides each step through prayer, obedience, character, and circumstances. Rebekah's simple response, “I will go,” demonstrates a faith willing to leave what is familiar and journey toward a bridegroom she has not yet seen. Historically, God has provided a bride for Isaac and preserved the covenant line into the next generation. Yet the chapter also gives us a beautiful picture pointing toward Christ: after the beloved son has been offered, a bride is prepared and brought to the son. Like Rebekah, the Church loves a Bridegroom we have not yet seen face-to-face. We faithfully follow, serve, and wait with our eyes toward the horizon, knowing that our Bridegroom is coming.
